<p>New Delhi: Recuperating from cardiac-related ailments, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar telephoned Derek O'Brien to wish him on his birthday last week. </p><p>The Trinamool Congress floor leader in his “irrepressible” way asked him to “shut up (and) take rest”, Dhankhar recalled in Rajya Sabha on Monday on how leaders were concerned about his health.</p><p>It was an “enlightenment” to him to know that “when it comes to a situation like this, our hearts are connected”.</p>.Vice Prez Dhankhar expresses concern about 'orchestrated, financially backed conversions' in India.<p>Recalling his conversation with O'Brien, Dhankhar said he had called the Trinamool leader to wish him on his birthday. "Derek O'Brien, irrepressible as usual, when I called him on his birthday during this period, he said shut up, take rest," Dhankhar said.</p><p>Dhankhar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on March 9 following cardiac-related ailments and was discharged on March 12 and was advised to take adequate rest. </p><p>He returned to chair the Rajya Sabha proceedings on Monday after missing the first week of proceedings.</p>.<p>As soon as the House assembled, Leader of House J P Nadda expressed happiness at the early recovery of Dhankhar and wished him good health and a long life. Echoing Nadda, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said he thought the Chairman would not attend the House for another four to six days but he was pleasantly surprised by Dhankhar's enthusiasm and dedication towards work and resuming office quickly.</p><p>In his response, he said he was greatly touched by the concerns expressed by leaders across party lines. While Nadda and Kharge were among the first to reach out to his family, Dhankhar said top Congress leader Sonia Gandhi got in touch with his wife as did West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.</p><p>"This will be a source of inspiration and enlightenment to me," he said.</p><p>He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited him in the hospital and several others too wanted to do so but they could not due to restrictions. "I express my deep sense of gratitude...There was hardly anyone who had not shown concern over my health," he said.</p>
