<p>A 24-year-old woman in Kerala was found to be infected with Zika virus, while 13 more were suspected to be infected.</p>.<p>State Health Minister Veena George said that Zika virus has been reported in Kerala for the first time.</p>.<p>Native of Thiruvananthapuram, the infected person was pregnant and she delivered on Wednesday. Though she had not traveled outside Kerala in the recent past, she was residing near the Tamil Nadu border.</p>.<p>Of the 19 other samples tested, 13 were suspected to have Zika infection. The samples were sent to NIV Pune for confirmation.</p>.<p>The minister said that though no medicines for Zika infection is available now, the fatality due to the infection was very rare. The infection spreads mainly through Aedes mosquitoes.</p>
