<p>The Visakhapatnam police have registered a case against a father, brother and step-brother for sexually assaulting a girl for several years.<br /><br />The distraught girl, now 25, was finally rescued by her father's third wife, who took her to the police station. Notably, the police had refused to register a complaint on an earlier occasion.<br /> <br />According to women and child welfare convener Varalakshmi, the victim's father started raping her when she was 14.<br /><br />The father, who is a central government employee, has two children with his first wife, whom he left after she suffered a mental breakdown allegedly due to his torture, the police compliant said. The father took his son with him, but left his three-year-old daughter at a relative's house. When she attained puberty, he took her from Nellore to Chennai.<br /> <br />Aware that the father was raping the girl, her brother also started indulging to the heinous crime. They used to beat her mercilessly and sexually exploit her daily. Soon, the son of the second wife also started assaulting the girl.<br /><br />In 2009, when the main accused was transferred to Kanpur, he shifted the girl to his sister’s house in Vizianagaram. He used to frequent his sister's place and rape the girl.<br /> <br />Meanwhile, the father married for the third time and shifted everyone to Visakhapatnam. The girl, who is currently doing her second year graduation, began openly defying her father's sexual advances, and sought support from his third wife, who took her to the police.<br /><br />The police, who sent the victim for medical tests, have shifted her to a women's welfare home.</p>
