<p>Srinagar: A day after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam tourist resort which claimed the lives of 27 civilians, mostly tourists, the Army on Wednesday thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, killing two terrorists in a fierce gunbattle.</p><p>According to a defence official, the incident occurred in the Uri Nalla area when troops deployed along the LoC detected suspicious movement. </p><p>“Around 2–3 unidentified militants attempted to infiltrate through the general area of Sarjeevan at Uri Nala. Alert troops challenged the movement, leading to a fire fight,” he said.</p><p>In the exchange of fire that followed, two infiltrators were neutralised. The identity and affiliation of the slain militants are yet to be ascertained.
