They are: V P Ikkeri, BBMP Joint Commissioner (West); N S Prasanna Kumar, MD, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Corporation; G C Prakash, CEO, Bagalkot ZP.

The State government issued a notification in this regard on Friday. However, the appointment is subject to pending court cases.
The government had proposed names of these officers for appointment to IAS in 2010. But the UPSC cleared the names after a delay of nearly one-and half-years.

A non-State Civil Service officer should have completed a minimum of eight years of service to be eligible for appointment to IAS.

Based on their merit and ability, the State government recommends names to the UPSC for appointment.

However, the UPSC has not cleared names of 26 KAS officers who have been recommended for appointment to IAS.
