41 power theft cases detected

A sum of Rs 21.75 lakh has been recovered as fine from the offenders. As many as 16 power theft cases have come to light so far in July and a sum of Rs 5.99 lakh has been recovered as fine, according to a official press release.

A team comprising sub-inspector Shivashankar, Assistant Executive Engineer Mohammed Gouse Peer, staff Hayat Sab, Murali, Ashwathnarayana, Somashekhar, Manjunath, Narasimha, Lokesh and Venkataramanappa carried out the operation under the guidance of vigilance squad SP Jayakumar and DySP Malleshappa.

Computers recovered

Mulbagal police on Thursday arrested a person on the charge of stealing computers.  The arrested, identified as  Sadiq Khan (40), is an ex-employee of State bank of Mysore and  a resident of Kurubarapet in the town, police said.

Khan had stolen 13 computers from Chennabasamma Mahila Samaj College on Kolar bypass road and from a browsing centre.
