<p>New Delhi: Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Thursday informed the Rajya Sabha that there were 506 centrally protected monuments/sites under the care and maintenance of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Karnataka.</p>.<p>“Conservation and maintenance of these monuments/sites is a continuous process and are taken up as per the need of the monument/site and availability of resources,” he said while replying to a question by Narayanasa K Bhandage of the BJP. He said a cultural heritage site at Seetimani village of Bagalkot district dating back to the period of the Ramayana was not under the jurisdiction of the ASI and no proposal was pending with the ASI for its conservation.</p>.Marine fish production decreases, inland fish production in Karnataka rises to 24%.<p>Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uikey told the House that a total of 2,89,236 Individual Forest Rights claims had been received in Karnataka. Of these, a total of 15,772 claim applications were pending for settlement, the minister said. A total of 15,355 title deeds were distributed, while 2,58,109 claims had been rejected, the minister said in reply to a question from BJP member Narayana K.</p>
