<p>Six people, including three of a family, were killed when the multi-utility vehicle (MUV) in which they were travelling collided with the rear-end of a stationary lorry at Halageri here on Sunday night.<br /><br />The dead are Nagamma Bhandari, 48, Poornima Bhandari, 25, Sarvakka Lingadahalli, 58, all belonging to the same family from Makanur in the taluk; Gangamma Gadagimath from Itagi; Nagaraj Guttur, 28, from Kodiyal Hosapete; Gowramma Gurusiddappa, 40, from Bharamasagara near Chitradurga.<br /><br />They were on their way back from Sigandhur temple in Shivamogga district.<br /><br />Five people, including the driver of the MUV, were injured in the accident and they have been shifted to hospital.<br /><br />The lorry was laden with logs of Eucalyptus trees and no reflective stickers were pasted to indicate the presence of the logs.<br /><br />DH News Service</p>
