<p>New Delhi: Forest Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/eshwar-khandre">Eshwar Khandre</a> on Friday said that Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/siddaramaiah">Siddaramaiah</a> would convene a high-level meeting soon to discuss the issue of demand to lift the night traffic ban through Bandipur.</p><p>Khandre, who met Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, to discuss state pending issues in the Ministry of Forest and Environment, told media here, "There is a demand to lift the ban. No decision has been made so far. However, a meeting would be convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take stakeholders' view."</p><p>"Karnataka shares border with many states including Kerala. There are some issues with each border state. These issues will be resolved amicably," he said.</p>.‘Walk for Bandipur’ against talks on lifting of ban on night traffic on April 6.<p>"As of now, the night ban is continuing and no decision has been taken to lift it," he said.</p><p>The Government of Karnataka implemented the night traffic ban on NH 766 which ran through Bandipur in Chamarajanagar district in Karnataka and connected Wayanad in Kerala. However, Kerala has been demanding to lift it. Even Wayanad Congress Lok Sabha member and senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi wrote to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to explore possible lifting of the ban. </p><p>Khandre said he also requested Yadav to grant early green clearances to the Kalasa-Banduri project in Belagavi district.</p><p>The minister also said that there are 200 wild elephants roaming outside the forests in the state mostly in Hassan and Kodagu districts. The state government had decided to set up a safe release centre in Chikkamagaluru district in 4,000 hectare forest land, where these wild elephants would be captured and put in the safe release centre, he said.</p><p>The state also requested the Central government to sanction funds to set up a safe release centre, he said.</p>
