<p>Bengaluru: The death toll due to Covid in Karnataka increased to four on Saturday, after a 63-year-old man's death in Bengaluru.</p><p>The number of active Covid positive cases in Karnataka stands at 238, as on Saturday. While 58 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, 53 have recovered or been 'discharged', according to the state health department. </p><p>A cumulative of 425 cases have been recorded since the beginning of the year, including 183 patients who recovered and four who died.</p><p>According to the department, a 63-year-old man who was a cancer and TB patient, was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru complaining of general weakness on May 21. </p><p>He was undergoing chemotherapy for squamous cell carcinoma of the buccal mucosa, which is a type of oral cancer that develops in the lining of the inner cheek, and had developed TB as well. </p>.Elderly woman with acute intestinal obstruction tests Covid positive in Delhi; dies .<p>He passed away on May 29 due to a blood clot in one of the jugular veins (major blood vessel) with cancer-linked progressive, loss of fat and muscle mass, with an incidental Covid positive finding.</p><p>Over the past 24 hours, a total of 420 Covid tests have been conducted, including 354 RT-PCR tests and 66 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT). The state's positivity rate in the past 24 hours stood at 13.8 per cent, with a case fatality rate of 1.7 per cent.</p><p>As of Friday, 13 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the state while 225 patients are isolating at home. Hospitalisations include one patient in the ICU in a private hospital, six patients on isolation beds in private hospitals and six others on isolation beds in government hospitals.</p>
