3 killed in tyre burst accident

Three students were killed on the spot, while six others were injured, two of them grievously, as a tyre of an SUV in which they were travelling exploded on National Highway-75 at Tigalarapalya on Wednesday afternoon.

The victims are Rakshan (23), Ujjwal (24), and Harish (23), all residents of Hoskerehalli in Bengaluru and students of private colleges, the police said.

Nine students in a Scorpio vehicle had left for their friend’s wedding feast at Nagamangala in Mandya district.

The tyre burst when they approached Tigalarapalaya, toppling the vehicle.

On being alerted, the police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital. Two of them are being treated at the ICU.
