The police arrested six men in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old man on June 17 in J C Nagar. The victim, Manikanta (22), was a resident of Kamalanagar, the police said.
The arrested have been identified as Shivaji (30), Puneetha (23), Vinoda (30), Bharath (22), Chethan (23) and Bhaskar (23), residents of Mahalakshmi Layout and Nandini Layout. The police have also seized their weapons and two bikes.
According to the police, Manikanta got into an argument with his friend Shivaji during a cricket match in the locality. Following the fight, around 6.15 pm, Shivaji and his friends attacked Manikanta with a machete and other sharp objects, killing him on the spot.
