<p>When it comes to music concerts, fans in the City have always been treated to a lot of variety in terms of genre.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Recently, at the Alliance Francaise, the audience experienced a completely different sort of performance. It was a heady mix of jazz and experimental sounds, packed with a mix of acoustic and video-graphic presentation.<br /><br /> The concert, which was called ‘FLY’, saw two musicians share the stage — French pianist Laurent de Wilde and Nico Ticto, a videographer and founder member of ‘XLR Project’. Together, they showcased something extraordinary. <br /><br />For the concert in the City, they performed many numbers like ‘Jean Sebastien Bach’, ‘Sergei Prokofiev’, ‘Darius Milhaud’, ‘Jules Massenet’, ‘Jacques Ibert’, ‘Eugene Ysaye’ and Nicolo Paganini’. <br /><br />The spellbinding performance was not only a treat for the ears but also a visual delight. The graphics blended really well with the notes of the piano.<br /><br /> At times, the dialogue would include pure and intense sounds and then, it would deconstruct into a heady mix of jazz and experimental sounds. <br /><br />“It was almost like both the artistes were having a conversation through the different mediums,” says Tharun, a member of the audience.<br /><br />For many, it was a bit difficult to understand the concept. But this didn’t stop them from enjoying it — they simply perceived it as a new experiment. <br /><br />“On the whole, it looked lovely and the music was very different. I have never seen anything like this before. But I am not too sure what the message behind it was,” expresses Tania, another member from the audience. <br /><br />Many liked the synchronisation between the visuals and the music. <br /><br />Laila, who had come for the concert, says, “There was an amazing co-ordination between the two artistes on stage. It was a beautiful experience — to watch and to hear.” Her friend, Arjun agrees.<br /><br /> “The artistes were surrounded by a screen that made it seem like they were in a bubble of their own. The visuals that surrounded them made it more mesmerising. The City should host more such concerts as people will get to see different kinds of art forms,” he adds.<br /></p>
