A sneak peek into India's first 3D-printed post office in Bengaluru

'Silicon Valley of India' Bengaluru has received its first 3D-printed post office. Union Minister for Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the post office which was built in just 45 days with the use of a robotic printer that works on 3D printing technology.

According to postal officials, the post office building was constructed by Larsen & Toubro company while IIT Madras provided technical guidance.

The entire construction activity was completed in a period of 45 days as compared to about six to eight months taken by the conventional method.
