<p>Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh on Thursday said his tenure would prioritise basic policing.</p>.<p>He was speaking during an informal interaction at the Press Club of Bengaluru.</p>.<p>"I will set right some issues at police stations, where, in the absence of the Station House Officer (SHO), the aggrieved are sometimes made to wait or asked to return later," Singh said.</p>.<p>"Basic policing is my priority, along with enhancing the safety of women and children and improving traffic management. There will also be a greater focus on raising awareness about cybercrimes and cyber laws. Social media will be strictly monitored," he added.</p>.<p>Singh said the city’s crime detection rate is very good and the department would work to strengthen follow-ups to ensure more convictions.</p>
