BBMP chief addresses public grievances in East Zone

Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath held a grievance redressal meeting in the East Zone on Wednesday, where he was met with a barrage of complaints from residents.

Key issues that came up include rampant illegal constructions, footpath encroachments, difficulties with khata services, non-functional street lights, and the poor condition of roads.

Girinath assured the public that time-bound solutions would be provided and directed the engineers and revenue officers concerned to address the complaints promptly. One resident requested the reopening of the Cox Town market, which has been closed.

Many citizens voiced frustration over the difficulty in obtaining e-khata, urging the commissioner to streamline the process for easier access. Additional concerns raised included the poor maintenance of skywalks and the lack of street lights along the service road of the Outer Ring Road.

The meeting was attended by Preeti Gehlot, in-charge Zonal Commissioner of East Zone; Saroja, Joint Commissioner; and Suguna, Chief Engineer of the BBMP.
