BBMP empowers Bengaluru RWAs to hold e-khata melas

Bengaluru: The BBMP has empowered residents welfare associations and civic groups to organise e-khata melas in their neighbourhood or apartment complexes for the benefit of citizens.

This is being done to decentralise the process as the e-khata rollout applies to 24 lakh properties, which is a large number. 

In a circular, the BBMP requested active citizens to volunteer and form a group to connect with residents who are unable to upload necessary documents such as sale deed, Bescom connection number, etc, to obtain the final copy of the e-khata. Some residents also need help to check the draft e-khata as it requires basic computer knowledge. 

The BBMP has directed zonal commissioners and joint commissioners to help the volunteers who come forward to organise the e-khata melas. The civic body has asked the organisers to provide computers, power back up, and printers depending on the volume of participants.
