In November 2020, a grouping of organisations had petitioned the government to rename Bagepalli, which they argued was a Telugu name. </p><p>The Cabinet meeting at Nandi Hills is expected to approve several projects worth hundreds of crores for the Kolar and Chikkaballapur regions. The Nandi Hills are located in the Chikkaballapur district. </p>
