<p>Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B.SMILE) has begun preparatory works to upgrade the 22-km Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch, between Silk Board Junction and Baiyappanahalli, to international standards.</p>.<p>The agency plans to hire a private firm to suggest solutions and prepare drawings for both the main carriageway and service roads.</p>.<p>This follows the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bbmp">Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) </a>promise in its recent budget to allocate Rs 400 crore for developing one section of the ORR. The project has been entrusted to B.SMILE, a newly formed agency mandated to handle large infrastructure works.</p>.Bus priority lanes to return to ORR tech corridor.<p>The blueprint is expected in the next two to three months. </p>.<p>“The study will cover traffic management measures such as signage, non-motorised transport solutions, bus lanes, one-ways, and road improvements like grade separators, pedestrian skywalks, bus stops, and more,” tender documents stated.</p>
