Bengaluru: A coffee shop employee in central Bengaluru was assaulted allegedly for refusing to provide an extra cup to a customer, police said on Thursday. A CCTV footage of the attack went viral on social media.

Following a complaint, the police traced the suspect, identified as Arun Kumar, 33, a resident of Palace Guttahalli. Two of his friends also assaulted the victim, the police said.

“Notices have been issued to the suspects to appear before the investigators. Further probe is underway,” a police officer said.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at around 6.50 pm at Namma Fitler Coffee located near Seshadripuram.

The CCTV footage showed the suspect and his two associates beating up the server who was sitting behind the counter. The server was then dragged out of the counter by the suspects as they continued to assault him, the footage 3D owner then filed a complaint with the Seshadripuram police, and an FIR was registered.
