<p>In high spirits, the students take to the stage and present dance choreographies that celebrate the energy of youth. On the occasion of the annual fest – ‘Tatva 2015’ and 20th Foundation Day of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, these students knew nothing but to put their best foot forward. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The two-day national-level inter-college management, technical and cultural fest Tatva at the Dwarka campus of the institute, was inaugurated by ghazal king Pankaj Udhas. After the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the artiste sang few of his melodious songs and mesmerised the crowd. The enthusiasm of the students made the veteran singer nostalgic about his <br />college days.<br /><br />The theme for the festival this year was ‘Panchtatva: Celebrating the elements of Life’. The highlight of Tatva ’15 was the performance of the popular rapper Raftaar along with BIG Dhillon at the Star Night. The festival included about 50 events, organised by various academic clubs of the institute and the topics as diverse as politics, marketing, human relations, finance and information technology. Over a thousand students from various institutes across the country competed in these events for prizes worth Rs 12.50 lakh. The popularity of a few competitions in the fest can be gauged from the fact that colleges such as Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi turned up to participate in Pac 2000 organised by Media and Communication cell and the HR club of the institute. <br /><br />Though there were a number of academic and non-academic competitions, one of these named ‘Adhigrahan’, organised by the finance department was quite interesting. <br /><br />“Like a bidding game we had to bid for companies that we want to acquire, which taught us the significance of finances in the real world,” says Yagya Arora, a student of the institute who won the III prize in this competition. <br /><br />A lecture on ‘Leadership in Challenging Times’ by General (Retd) VP Malik, former Army Chief and chief guest, marked the celebrations for the Foundations Day post-Tatva. In his speech, the speaker focused on the importance of ethical leadership, discipline and integrity. “Challenges can be dealt with global leadership and good talent accompanied with dedication,” Malik said. <br /><br />On the occasion Anil Shastri, politician and chairman of the institute said, “Credibility, right attitude quotient and high risk-taking ability allows you to succeed and one cannot venture out without these.” He also guided the students on dealing with challenges with good leadership, talent and dedication.<br /><br />These intellectual soirees were attended by eminent academicians and professionals from the industry. Alongside, there was also an annual student competition – ‘Creative Exploration’, where participants were asked to make posters on the theme of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ or ‘Unity in Diversity’. Creativity unleashed here too with youngsters making use of not just paint but even craft and waste material to present their ideas on the theme.</p>
