Food delivery boy held for groping woman

City police arrested a 32-year-old online food delivery man for allegedly misbehaving with a software engineer while she was returning home from an ATM on Sunday night.

The victim in her complaint to the police stated that accused Manjunath approached her on the pretext of delivering a food parcel, eventually groping her.

The victim raised an alarm following which the accused pushed her down and even tried to snatch her phone while she was trying to click the photograph of his bike’s registration number.

The accused soon sped away after the victim raised an alarm.

The victim, along with the picture of the bike, lodged a complaint at the HSR Layout police station. The accused was nabbed within a few hours.

The accused told the police that he was returning after delivering a parcel and the bike handle accidentally brushed the victim. The victim abused him which led to heated arguments, he claimed.

Manjunath has been booked for outraging the modesty of a woman and has been remanded to judicial custody.
