The Directorate of Medical Education has added the government share of seats from deemed universities to the seat matrix pool for admissions to postgraduate medical courses.

The online entry option for selection of seats was open to students until 9 pm on Saturday. 15 seats added

The counselling will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Among the deemed universities, 10 medical seats have been added from K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore, four seats from JSS Medical College, Mysore, and one seat from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar.

Case pending

Earlier, the government had decided to go ahead with the counselling without these seats, as a High Court case pertaining to seat sharing between the State and deemed universities was pending.

According to officials in the Medical Education department, the seats have now been added based on an interim order from the High Court in this regard.
