<p>Bengaluru: A gemstone trader from Hyderabad has been arrested for stealing foreign currency from international delegates visiting Bengaluru. </p><p>Chintakindi Srinivasulu, 57, allegedly tracked conferences attended by international guests on news and social media and other public platforms. </p><p>"He used to dress in a formal suit like the foreign delegates and attend these conferences. He would then steal from bags kept aside by the foreign delegates. Since some of the foreign currencies have more value, he used to exchange them locally for Indian rupees," said Hakay Akshay Machhindra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central). </p>.Under constant threat from cybercriminals, man dies by suicide near Bengaluru.<p>Roger Neino Sheng, a foreign delegate, lost US $300 and 3,000 Taiwanese dollars while attending the 2025 annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) at Hotel Shangri-La in Bengaluru in June. He filed a complaint at the High Grounds police station on June 23. </p><p>Following the complaint, police tracked down Srinivasulu and recovered US $270 and 2,900 Taiwanese dollars. They also recovered 200 Australian dollars and 10,000 Laotian Kip that he allegedly stole during another event in the Sadashiva Nagar police station limits. The recovered currency is worth Rs 41,079. </p><p>Investigations revealed that Srinivasulu decided to steal foreign currency as it was an "easy affair".</p>
