<p>Bengaluru: The Karnataka government issued an order on Wednesday transferring D Roopa Moudgil, just days after Vartika Katiyar accused her of orchestrating the “planting” of files in Katiyar’s office last year.</p><p>Roopa, who had been serving as the Inspector General of Police at the Internal Security Division (ISD), has now been transferred and appointed as the Managing Director of the Karnataka Silk Marketing Board Limited. The news became public on March 2 when Katiyar’s letter to Shalini was leaked.</p><p>In her complaint, Katiyar alleged that two junior police officers—Manjunath TS (head constable) and Mallikarjuna (home guard)—acted under Roopa’s direction and “planted” files in her office on September 6, 2024.</p><p>According to Katiyar, Mallikarjuna had obtained the keys to her room from the control room sentry. Manjunath then entered the office, placed the files, took a picture of the office, and sent it to Roopa via WhatsApp.</p><p>At the time, both officers were posted in the Internal Security Division (ISD), with Roopa serving as the Inspector General of Police and Katiyar as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), reporting to Roopa.</p>
