<p>Bengaluru: Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/siddaramaiah">Siddaramaiah</a> allocated a special grant of Rs 7,000 crore to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (<a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bbmp">BBMP</a>) in the state budget for 2025-26, increasing the yearly allocation by Rs 4,000 crore. The government also announced that a new special-purpose vehicle will be established to utilise these grants and implement major developmental works on priority.</p><p>"Our government gives priority to basic infrastructure in Bengaluru city, which makes a major contribution to the state’s economy," the CM said during his budget speech.</p><p>He also appreciated the BBMP for increasing property tax collection by implementing various reforms and adopting the online e-khata system. "The land acquisition process has begun with separate teams formed for this purpose," the CM said.</p>
