The actress now known as Mrs Nene, is going to star in a play called Amrapali, based on the life of a dancer, for broadway.

The producer of the play is the Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, who has choreographed many of Madhuri’s famous dance steps in a whole host of Hindi films. She was the one who made Madhuri an overnight sensation with the hit number Ek Do Teen for Tezaab.

Madhuri Dixit was also in the news recently for being cast in the much-hyped biopic Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story, though nothing has been confirmed. The movie looks all set to have a smattering of Hollywood presence too.
Latest reports suggest that film-maker Krishna Shah, who will direct and produce the two-part biopic, is in talks with Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren for the role of Queen Elizabeth II. Shah also hopes to line up Hollywood superstars Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones for the roles of former US presidents Lyndon B Johnson and Richard Nixon respectively.
