M Maheshwar Rao took charge as the commissioner, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, on Friday. The 1995 IAS officer will also serve as the district election officer.
On Thursday, following directions from the Election Commission of India, incumbent N Manjunath Prasad was transferred, without any posting.
