Mayor inspects waste plants

Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun inspected the Karnataka Compost Development Corporation (KCDC) and Chikkanagamangala waste processing centres on Wednesday.

She ordered the officials concerned to increase the collection of wet waste at the KCDC plant and also increase the amount of manure being produced and sell it. She ordered them to use air filters in order to contain the stench emanating from the plant, which causes great inconvenience to the residents.

Later, she inspected the plant at Chikkanagamangala and directed the officials to increase the capacity of waste processing at the unit.
