MLA Munirathna served with notice in voter ID scandal

D Devaraja, the DCP (Central), served a notice to Rajarajeshwari Nagar MLA Munirathna as directed by the high court.

Hearing a petition for a CBI probe into the voter ID scandal that rocked the Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency last May, the court had ordered issuing notices to the Congress legislator, the state government, the police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

N Rakesh, the original complainant in the case, had filed the petition, citing “shortcomings” in the police probe into the scandal and urging the court to order a CBI investigation.
