Married for just a few months now, Devanshi, wife of Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler R P Singh, is already in the groove.

She is often seen at the IPL matches, in the company of the wives and girlfriends of other cricketers, cheering her husband.

Mention her husband’s name and it’s hard to miss the twinkle in her eyes and the bright smile.

This being her first visit to the City, Devanshi is making the most of it by exploring the place, shopping and spending time with her husband.

Since the last two years, many cricketers have tied the knot and Devanshi says that meeting the wives is great fun.

“It’s great meeting them. It’s a good group and since we do share so many things in common, the bonding and the vibe is good,” she says.

When it comes to cricket, Devanshi honestly admits that until a few years ago she was not involved in the game as much as she is now. “We rarely talk about cricket.

But there are times when he does teach me a lot about the game. And I think the credit must go to RP, who has developed a liking for cricket in me as well,” she adds.

But it’s the infectious energy at the stadium that really gets her in the mood. And each time she watches her husband get on to the field, she has butterflies in her stomach. “I know he will do his best on the field but I still hold on to my breath when I see him get on the field,” she says. Ask Devanshi to describe RP Singh and she says, “He is the best husband one could have.”

In fact, she reveals that not many know the romantic side of RP. “He has done so many romantic things. The first few days after the marriage have been very special to me.

As newly weds, I was a little anxious and nervous like any new bride when I entered my husband’s home. But RP ensured that he was with me at every step of the way and made me feel so comfortable,” she adds.

The couple enjoy doing many things together. While they share many similarities, they are also poles apart in many ways.

“My husband is a complete introvert. He prefers to be at home and spend time with the family. Even when we hang out with friends, we always call them home rather than go out.

But as a person, he is great fun and brings out the best in me,” she sums up.
