Commuters using the Sirsi Circle flyover should gear up for a bit of congestion over the next four months as the repair will begin on Wednesday.

The BBMP is repairing the 2.6-km flyover as the road has been excessively used by commuters.

K T Nagaraj, chief engineer, road infrastructure, (projects), Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, told DH: “The entire flyover will not be shut at once. People moving from Town Hall towards Mysuru Road can use the alternative route during the evening. But vehicles will not be allowed on one side (left) of the road.”

The civic body has sought clearance from the traffic police.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 4.3 crore. The repair will involve milling the road and laying asphalt.
