<p>A plumber was hacked to death allegedly by a co-worker in Electronics City police station limits late Saturday night.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The victim Nagappa, 45, was from Venkatagiri Kota village in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Three workers from Venkatagiri Kota — Nagappa, Krishnappa and Seethappa had come to the City to eke out a living five days ago.<br /><br />They were employed by a contractor Bhupal, who had taken up the construction of Arpitha apartments on Neeladri Road in Electronics City. Four floors of the apartment have already been constructed and the plumbing work was in progress. All the three worked as plumbers and were staying in a room in the apartment, the police said.<br /><br />Bhupal made a payment of Rs 2,000 to the plumbers for the first week’s work, asking them to distribute the money equally among themselves. The trio went to a bar, consumed liquor and returned to their room.<br /><br /> Later, Krishnappa and Nagappa fought over the distribution of the money. Krishnappa allegedly overpowered Nagappa, pinned him to the ground and attacked him with a hammer. Nagappa sustained injuries on the head and in the left ear and died on the spot. Krishnappa fled after realising that his colleague was dead, police said.<br /><br />The third plumber Seethappa said: “They had a heated argument and I tried in vain to calm them. Moreover, it was too hot and humid inside. Therefore, I went out of the room and slept outside. I woke up on Sunday morning and returned to my room. I saw Nagappa lying in a pool of blood. I informed the construction supervisor and subsequently, the police.” <br /><br />Electronics City police, who have registered a case of murder, have sent a team to Venkatagiri Kota to nab Krishnappa.</p>
