The Bangarapet police arrested five suspects, including the wife of the 43-year-old relator, Manjunath, who was found murdered at Kesaranahalli in Bangarpet police limits on Tuesday.

The Bangarpet police arrested Mangala alias Meena, 38, Kiran, 28, Murali, 26, Lokesh, 23, and Babu, 25, for allegedly murdering Manjunath. Kiran was a tenant at Manjunath’s house and stayed with his wife Aruna.

According to the police, Kiran and Mangala were involved in an extramarital affair for the past two years. But when Manjunath learnt about it, he asked Kiran to vacate the house immediately. Subsequently, Mangala and Kiran plotted to kill Manjunath with the help of three others.

They stabbed Manjunath to death while he was asleep in his bedroom. Murali, Lokesh and Babu then helped them dispose of the body at Ajjappanahalli.

The investigation was jointly carried out by Bangarpet and Mahadevapura police.
