Raheja Arcade shooting: police team leaves for Bihar

A special police team has left for Bihar to track down the assailants who tried to kill city-based businessman Kanhaiyalal Agarwal on Saturday at his office in Raheja Arcade in Koramangala.

A senior police officer said Agarwal’s statement has been recorded after he was discharged from hospital on Monday, and the team has left for Hasanpur in Bihar get more information about the suspects. The police suspect business rivalry.

Some agents at Hasanpur had asked Agarwal not to purchase maize from that city as they were losing out on their business. They even threatened to kill him if he did not oblige. Agarwal said he has not got such threats from any other place.

On Saturday, three assailants tried to barge into his office and fired three rounds from the main door of Agarwal’s cabin. One bullet scrapped the back of his head and he sustained injurious.

Agarwal is the director of Farm India Impex Private Limited, which purchases maize seeds from farmers from across the country and sells them to poultry farms.
