Music lovers in the City were treated to some of the evergreen compositions of the past, filmed on popular heroes like Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor, at the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall recently.

Sada Bahaar Sitare made the audience sing along with the artistes and even shake a leg. Singers Hamid Khan, Shabbir Kumar and Mohammed Aslam enthralled the audience with their style and voice. Mere Sapnon ki Rani Kab Ayegi Tu, Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se, Dil Deke Dekho etc set the mood for the evening.

The line-up of musicians, who accompanied the singers, uplifted their performances.

Singer Hamid Khan and Mohammed Aslam belted out one superhit after another. Hamid Khan was lauded as he rendered difficult songs like Kya Se Kya Ho Gaya and Tu Kahan Mane Na Mera Dil Deewana with ease.

Romantic numbers like Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai and several other hits of RD Burman brought the audience out of their shell and made them shake a leg.

The audience were also seen requesting the singers to render their favourite songs.
Hemanth, who attended the concert, was all praises for the team. “The singers have chosen some songs, which are rarely heard now. I have grown up listening to these songs and it is great to hear them now. Listening to these songs has made me nostalgic and I can recount those days when we bunked college to watch these movies. I am enjoying the show,” he says. Hemanth was not the only one who was nostalgic. Many others could be seen sharing their memories with friends and family members.

“I am here with my family as I want my children to make note of the quality of music that was there in the 60s and 70s. These songs will always be fresh and one can enjoy them anytime, anywhere. Some of my favourite songs have been performed here
and surprisingly, even my children enjoyed the show,” says Nazir Khan, a member of
the audience.
