A 26-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself at his rented apartment in 7th Phase, JP Nagar, on Friday night.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Ashok, a tennis coach by profession. He used to impart training to children residing in the apartment. He was staying in a room provided by the management. On Friday night, he went inside the toilet and hung himself from the ceiling. On Saturday morning, a security guard noticed that the toilet was locked from inside. He went and knocked on the door but there was no response.

Meanwhile, a few people noticed that Ashok was missing and went around looking for him but in vain. They also called him on his mobile phone but there was no response. They informed the police, who broke open the toilet door to find Ashok hanging from the ceiling.

They informed his family members, who were residing in Bommanahalli and told the police that he was depressed over the recent death of his younger brother due to ill health. He might have committed suicide as he was upset about his brother’s death, added the police.
A case has been registered in Hulimavu police station.
