‘Time to say goodbye’: Bengaluru man plans relocation over traffic and stress

The Reddit user has detailed his poor experience with Bengaluru’s living conditions, which have taken a toll on him for the past year, mentioned 'I've been feeling very bad about the traffic, dust pollution, and stress levels.'

A 41-year-old businessman's reddit post on planning to leave Bengaluru, a city where he was 'born and raised', citing poor living conditions has gone viral online.

In his post, he shared his decision to move to a Tier 2 city, to lead a peaceful life with his family for the rest of his life.

The Reddit post by @ashwin005 detailed his poor experience with Bengaluru’s living conditions, which has taken a toll on him for the past year, mentioned "I've been feeling very bad about the traffic, dust pollution, and stress levels."

The user also cited, "Bengaluru is the 2nd most congested city in the world after Mexico", urging the Government to address the escalating issues in the city.

"This isn't a hate post on Bengaluru, but a wake-up call for the Government, as many people are fed up and are looking for a solution."

The post was widely endorsed by netizens, included comments from Bangaloreans agreeing to the city's drastic change over the years.

A Reddit user posted, "Bangalore was once called “The City Beautiful” is no more.. Feels really sad being born and bought up here and to see it being spoiled. My city was heaven and there was no other place on earth like it."

Another user shared his similar experience to that of the original poster, “As a fellow Bengalurian myself, I too feel the same. Had almost planned a move to Mysore (Some colleagues and family moved there for the same reasons you mentioned), but it seems like most of the people had the same idea.”

A third Reddit user commented, “I felt exactly the same about 8 years ago. I had a strong desire to leave the city, buy some agricultural land in coastal Karnataka, farm, and live a peaceful life. To make that happen, I needed money, so I stayed back in Bangalore and kept working. Even today, I haven’t earned enough to make that move, so I’m still here, dealing with traffic, dust, and all the daily stress, even though my heart isn’t in it anymore."

While replying to another comment, the original poster revealed that he plans to shift to Mangalore, which drew a negative reaction from netizens. "Nahh, Mysore is already going the Bangalore way. Any more population influx will crash it's existing infrastructure," a user responded.
