The State government will soon establish a ‘Tipu Park’ complete with a museum and library at Devanahalli, the birth place of the Tiger of Mysore, at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, said Minority Welfare and Wakfs Minister Mumtaz Ali Khan on Thursday.
Speaking to the media in Bangalore, Khan said light and sound show on the life and time of Tipu will also be started at the park. The government is also planning to take up renovation and restoration work of the Tipu drop and fort at Nandi Hills at a cost of Rs one crore.
A Tipu Sultan Memorial Urdu Marriage Hall will be constructed on KH Road in Bangalore, he said. He said “Haj Ghar” which will house facilities for Haj pilgrims will come up at Hennur Cross. The State government had released additional grants to the tune of Rs 19 crore for minority welfare. This is in addition to the Rs 186 crore earmarked in the budget, the minister added.
