The two journalists of a Kannada television news channel, who were arrested by the Sadashivanagar police for allegedly attempting to bribe Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, have lodged a complaint against the latter accusing him of assaulting them.
According to the counter-complaint lodged by journalists Shreyas and Shwetha, the minister and his accomplices threatened them of dire consequences if the news was published or aired.
Shwetha, in her complaint, also claimed they misbehaved with her by outraging her modesty.
The Sadashivanagar police said they had received the complaints, but FIRs were yet to be registered.
“We will decide on the next step after completing the preliminary investigation,” they said.
The police also said that Mahendra Mishra, Director of TV9 (Kannada) and News9 (English), was still at large.
