<p>Bengaluru: The University of Liverpool is all set to become Karnataka’s first foreign higher education institution to establish its campus in the state. The varsity is scheduled to commence its operations in August 2026.</p><p>Taking part in an event in which the varsity made the announcement, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Karnataka welcomes Liverpool University with great honour. </p><p>“We are witnessing the beginning of a new chapter in Karnataka’s journey - a chapter that underscores our commitment to knowledge, progress, and international collaboration. It is a testament to Karnataka’s growing stature on the global map and Bengaluru’s unique role as a magnet for ideas, intellect, and innovation,” he said.</p>.UK's Starmer says Liverpool collision scenes 'appalling'.<p>“This new campus will open its doors to students from across India and the world, offering them a truly global education, right here in Bengaluru. For many years, our best students went abroad to study. Today, a top global university is choosing to come here. This shows that Karnataka is becoming a place where world-class institutions want to be and grow with us,” lauded the CM.</p><p>Founder and Executive Chairperson of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, who spoke during a panel discussion said that the university to stress upon faculty exchange, research and innovation.</p><p>Vice Chancellor of the university Tim Jones, Ministers M B Patil, Dinesh Gundu Rao, M C Sudhakar and others were present. </p><p>Though the location of the varsity campus is not yet disclosed, the sources from the state government said the campus is slated to come up at the Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation (KWIN) premises. </p>
