Vikas Suralkar Kishor to remain BBMP health commissioner

Bengaluru: In a surprising reversal, the BBMP has withdrawn its earlier order to remove Vikas Suralkar Kishor as the special commissioner of its health and sanitation department.

The 2012-batch IAS officer will continue to hold the position, an internal order showed.

Last week, the BBMP had appointed Preeti Gehlot, a 2016-batch IAS officer, as the special commissioner of its health division, adding the role to her existing responsibilities.

The decision to retract the removal order reportedly came after Kishor requested to retain his post as he wished to complete "some health-related projects", it is learnt.
