<p>Bengaluru: A 46-year-old homemaker in a gated community on Haralur Road sustained severe leg injuries after an SUV hit her and sped away while she was crossing the road outside her house on Friday. </p><p>The incident occurred at Lakedew Residency at 2.38 pm, when she was crossing the road to reach her two-wheeler to pick up her six-year-old son from school. CCTV cameras have captured the moments leading up to the tragedy, where two men appear to be chatting with the driver, who sped away from his parking spot and crashes into the woman moments later. </p><p>Footage shows the driver continue to drive away even after crashing into the woman.</p>.<p>"We are 99% sure he is not a resident of our layout. Residents have not seen this white Fortuner car before. Beer cans were found at the spot where this vehicle was parked; the driver was moving at a high speed," said Rupal Ralph, president of Reliable Lakedew Residency. </p><p>The woman suffered a shattered right fibula (bone connecting to the ankle joint) with two fractures which required complex surgeries. </p><p>According to her husband Subodh, an engineer, she is recovering and is likely to be discharged from the hospital on Sunday. Their daughter appeared for her first 10th standard board exam on Saturday. </p><p>Bellandur traffic police registered an FIR on Saturday. "We will trace the vehicle. We just waited to hear from the woman directly after her surgery," said an officer.</p>
