<p>Bengaluru: BJP state president <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/b-y-vijayendra">B Y Vijayendra</a> on Sunday said that the government was indulging in “deep-rooted and state-sponsored” corruption — particularly in the housing department. </p>.<p>He told reporters that the BJP would soon launch a statewide agitation in response to what he called “explosive revelations” by B R Patil, the Aland MLA and deputy chairman of the state policy planning commission. </p>.<p>Vijayendra said Congress’ own lawmakers attempting to expose corruption were being silenced through intimidation. </p>.Patil’s allegations not grave, says Karnataka Home Minister.<p>“Patil is a man of integrity who dared to speak out against wrongdoing, only to face threats for his honesty,” the state BJP chief said. He said Patil had “unmasked the true face” of the Congress government.</p>.<p>“He has exposed the grave corruption in the housing department, which is responsible for providing homes to the poorest sections of our society. Rather than investigate the matter, the Congress leadership is more concerned with silencing its own MLA,” Vijayendra said.</p>.<p>“I strongly suspect that he is being threatened for speaking the truth. This is not just passive tolerance of corruption. This government is actively sponsoring it. Patil’s revelations confirm beyond doubt that the Congress came to power not to serve the people, but to misuse public funds,” he said. </p>
