Boseraju seeks approval of departments for lift irrigation projects

Bengaluru: Minister for Minor Irrigation N S Boseraju on Thursday directed departments concerned to ensure coordination for the timely implementation of KC Valley, HN Valley and Vrishabhavati Valley Lift Irrigation and other projects aimed at filling up tanks to augment groundwater in dry regions of Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Tumakuru districts.

According to the statement released by the minister's office here, Boseraju reviewed the status of pending approvals required from various departments for the second phase of the lift irrigation projects that need to be taken up in these valleys.

The note added that the first phase of the KC Valley and HN Valley projects were successfully completed and water was already being discharged into lakes, while the second phase project requires approvals from multiple agencies.

"The Vrishabhavati Valley Lift Irrigation Project, recently launched, also demands expedited clearances to ensure swift execution," the statement read. 

Emphasising the critical role of interdepartmental clearances and increased co-ordination, Boseraju appealed to officials to facilitate project implementation rather than create administrative hurdles. He told officials to streamline and accelerate the approval process to prevent delays and ensure smooth execution.
