<p>Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said, he has decided to write letters to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to draw his attention to the problems in the region.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing a press meet, here, on Monday, he mocked at Siddaramaiah for being too ‘busy’, which made it difficult to meet him.<br /><br />Rivalry<br /><br />Responding to a question, whether the rivalry between former prime Minister Deve Gowda’s family and Siddaramaiah was hindering him from meeting the CM, Kumaraswamy said, it was not necessary to meet the CM to draw his attention to the problems in the State. <br /><br />“I am discharging my duties as the Opposition Leader by writing letters and drawing his attention through mass media,” he said.<br /><br />He said, he would speak as the Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly and point out the flaws and shortcomings of the State government.<br /><br />Speaking on the Santosh Lad issue, he said, Lad has admitted to paying fines for illegal mining. “How will it be possible to conduct a fair investigation, if a person accused of illegal mining is a Cabinet Minister?” he said.<br /><br />Compensation<br /><br />The government is not clear about the compensation to be paid to farmers, who have lost their cattle to the Foot and Mouth disease. The government should issue a statement and provide compensation to affected persons within a week, if not protests will be staged, he warned</p>
