The district administration has decided to book cases against illegal encroachments upon lakes in the district.
The authorities have commenced a survey of the lakes across the district. The district has 619 lakes and 263 of them have been encroached upon by private individuals for various purposes. The authorities have completed the survey of 239 ponds.
