Chikmagalur DC approves incentives to surrendered Naxals; Rs 3 lakhs given in 1st installment

The order states that Mundagaru Latha, Sundari Kuthluru, Vanajakshi Balehole, and Mareppa Aaroli, categorized under 'A', will receive an incentive of Rs 7.50 lakh each in total, which will be paid in installments.

Chikkamagaluru: Deputy Commissioner Meena Nagaraj has issued an order approving incentives for Naxalites who have joined the mainstream.

A meeting of the Left-wing extremists surrender committee and the District Rehabilitation Committee has been convened in this regard.

The order states that Mundagaru Latha, Sundari Kuthluru, Vanajakshi Balehole, and Mareppa Aaroli, categorized under 'A', will receive an incentive of Rs 7.50 lakh each.

K Vasanth and Jisha, who are from other states, will receive Rs four lakh each.

An amount of Rs 3 lakh each has been approved in the first phase.

The remaining amount will be distributed in the remaining two phases, the order stated.
