Wednesday’s cloud seeding resulted in 2-30 mm rains in Magadi, Ramanagaram, Nelamangala, Maddur and Mandya regions, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj dept has claimed.

Cloud seeding resumed Thursday with the aircraft firing 10 flares into five rain-bearing clouds at Belur (near Saligrama), Neeragunda (near Dodda), Chatchatna Halli (near Halebid) and Beechanahalli (near Kudur), officials said.

“The aircraft flew for two hours. Rainfall details will be available on Friday,” RDPR chief engineer (rural water supply) Prakash Kumar said. The Rs 35-crore Project Varshadhare is a 60-day exercise targeting the river basins of Cauvery, Malaprabha and Tungabhadra.
