Speaking on the occasion, SP M N Nagaraj said “the jurisdiction of Chikmagalur rural police station was large. Realising the needs of Mallanduru and neighbouring villagers, the police station has been set up.”
No building
At present the police station does not have a own building. The station will start functioning in the community hall of the Gram Panchayat. However, the new building will come up within six months, said MLA M P Kumaraswamy.
No land line
The police station does not have landline connection. At present, public can contact Gram Panchayat telephone number (08262-248178) to call the police. Shyam Nayak is the inspector of the station who can be contacted on 9449515277. As many as 57 villages come under the police station jurisdiction.
